Akufo Addo Visits Buhari in Nigeria

President Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday visited Nigeria's president, Mhammadu Buhari, to check his health status.

Buhari, 74, only returned to Nigeria on August 19, after more than 3 months medical treatment in the UK.

Addressing a press conference after the visit, Akufo Addo said he was delighted when Buhari returned from his long health leave in August.

"It was very good news to hear that he had returned. We are Africans, and it meant that I had to come and see things for myself.

He continued that he is "very delighted to see that he has come back, and is very vigorous, and, as always, very engaged in the issues of the day. We had a good half an hour together; reviewing matters, both in Ghana and Nigeria, as well as matters to do with what is going on in the ECOWAS community"

President Nana Addo and President Buhari also discussed ways to strengthen the relationship between Ghana and Nigeria, the growth of their respective economy, and how to fight terrorism bothering African countries.

Entourage of Akufo Addo includes Minister for National Security, Albert Kan Dapaah; Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Charles Owiredu and National Security Adviser, Gen. Emmanuel Otchere.
